Residential Rehabilitation Programs For people with a brain injury, community reintegration can be a slow process, sometimes in difficult situations taking several years. At NRI, we understand the changing needs of individuals at different stages in their recovery. Our long-term rehabilitation programs encourage individuals to become responsible for the everyday care of their lives and achieve greater freedom and independence. About Transitional and Community Living ProgramsBecause of the nature of their injury, individuals with brain injuries require specialized programs for long-term treatment. Most skilled nursing facilities are not able to meet the basic demands necessary for a therapeutic recovery from a brain injury. NRI offers supported living programs designed to offer a safe, home-like environment where individuals can continue to develop their skills in a neighborhood situation with the help of experienced medical and rehabilitation professionals. Services are presented in "real life" environments to promote the reacquisition of independent living skills and the use of strategies that will maximizes their sense of independence. Staff members are available around the clock to assist patients in this process and to ensure their ongoing safety and well-being as they participate in the program. The purpose of our residential programs is to aid our clients’ return to their communities. Program specifics in the transitional and community living environments are customized to meet the individual's needs. |
