Individuals with neuromotor impairments are often still compromised in their ability to achieve an independent lifestyle and attain goals of increased independence in the acute medical rehabilitation environment.

These individual often require assistance to perform the activities of daily living. Programs are designed individually to enable the person to achieve the highest level of independence possible.

Brookhaven's program is designed to maximize neuromotor skills through an integrative process of progressive physical strengthening and retraining. 

Admission criteria:

  • Persons age 18 and older with a primary diagnosis of Traumatic Brain Injury or acquired neurologic problem.

  • Individuals must be medically stable and able to participate in at least five or more hours of daily therapies.
